Botanical Garden Wedding

Jennifer and Andrew

These two made some of my photography dreams come true. They planned their engagement session in the city and then had a small, intimate wedding 2 months later. I had never been to the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens but holy cow - SO BEAUTIFUL! It was like they combined every type of outdoor greenery there is and put it in one location. So much variety! Their ceremony was held in the redwoods, then we crossed the street and took photos in the greenhouses, walked around the grounds and took some with the cacti, and had the prettiest light! It was so dreamy.

We then headed to their reception venue at the California Historical Radio Society, which was SO cool. Such a unique venue and it was perfect for the two of them. They love vintage, they love art and they love something unique - a win/win here.

At the end of the night, we decided to go down to the Alameda Theatre & Cineplex to take some photos by the old theatre sign at night. It was epic! Did I lay in the street to make sure I got their dip in front of the lit up sign? Yes. Yes I did. I will do almost anything to get the shot :). The theatre employees were SO nice. One of them came out while we were shooting out front and we thought for sure he was going to ask us to leave, but he actually invited us inside! He said we were totally welcome to shoot indoors because it was a cool theatre and ohhhh my gosh I’m so glad he asked us. It was so fun and cool! We got some really unique shots. Thank you Alameda Theatre!

All in all, these two allowed me to end my year on the highest note! They are the sweetest, most encouraging couple and I am truly sad their wedding is over. Can we plan a vow renewal every year, you two??
